Masters Basketball – National Championships plays a regulation NCAA college game. There are two 20 minute halves with 35 second shot clocks for the men and 30 second shot clocks for the women.

Although we will have an international team or two each year, the Board of Directors believes that the college game is best suited for the majority of our teams and players and indeed, the college game has worked well for us over the years.

Specifics to the college game; such as number of time outs, substitutions and other game details are covered on Sunday afternoon at the Team Organizer/Coaches meeting.

We stress the very competitive nature of an MBNC game. You could be playing 5 games in 6 days and you will find that the games are played at an intensity level similar to what you may have experienced in high school, college or the pro level. MBNC games are definitely not what you might experience in your local recreation league and teams need to staff and prepare accordingly.

For teams to be competitive throughout the week and especially in the semi finals and finals on Friday and Saturday, we strongly recommend a solid rotation of 10 players. Rosters are capped at 12 players.

We believe that you will find MBNC games are as good as any Basketball games you will see at any level in the country today. The players are in good shape, fundamentally sound and can still “shoot the lights out."

It is a lot of fun!
