John A Dougherty Jr. Sportsmanship Award
Wali Jones, Miami, Florida

Wali, a native of Philadelphia, is a graduate of Villanova University and had a distinguished career in the NBA. He was the point guard on the 1967 World Champion Philadelphia 76ers, considered by many as one of the greatest NBA teams of all times.

Wali has played in the Masters Basketball - National Championships since 1992. Although Wali plays a very competitive game, over the years he has always demonstrated the qualities of fair play and sportsmanship that is represented by the Dougherty Award. He is a true gentleman.

The Board of Directors of MBNC is pleased to have Wali as the 17th winner of this prestigous award.
